Step 1: Remembering the Clear ITO

Draw a rectangle box roughly 1"x12" and write ITO in the box. You do not need to print or cut this part out, but it is only a reminder that when designing you will need to incorporate this ITO area into your graphic.

An important part in designing your graphics is remembering where the ITO is on the material and somehow incorporating it into your design. As you become more experienced, we will teach you different ways to make connections to the ITO and how to hide them into your design.

Step 2: Sizing your Lamp

Design the lamp to the specific size that you want. Call the color off as 'Jet Black GCX-012' and also select 'Primer'. Remember that the Gerber EDGE® printer has a maximum print width of 11.8 inches wide.

Place the design closely to the ITO box but not in it.

Step 3: Importing your Graphic Overlay

In this example, we imported our overlay graphic so that we can make sure everything is designed to the correct size and placement.

Step 4: Design the New Lighted Area, Part 1

For this example, we want to light up the roll of Digitel Material on the graphic. In order to do this, we traced the image and called it off as "Jet Black GCX-012" and also added a Primer.

Step 5: Designing the New Lighted Area, Part 2

Dragging the graphic overlay (with the new black trace) over the Conductive Print so that they align in the fashion that they will be installed.

Delete the Graphic Overlay except for the traced image. The traced image should now be positioned correctly now.

Select the traced image and add a clear stroke of at least 0.025 points thick.

Step 6: Reflect

Reflect your design along the X axis. This is very important because the Conductive Ink is printed on the backside of the Digitel material so that when viewing the light from the frontside it will appear in the correct orientation.

Step 7: Output your Lamp

Select your design (except the ITO rectangle) and output it to the gspplot application by hitting SHIFT+F12.
