The Basics
  1. Strip a wire and fray it out
  2. Connect wires using a wire nut
  3. Making connections using conductive tape
  4. Hook up your inverter/power supply
  5. Laminating your EL light

  1. Wire - 20-22 gauge
  2. Vinyl electrical tape/wire nuts
  3. Wire strippers
  4. Scissors
  5. Inverter/Power Supply
  6. Digitel EL material
  7. ZeroNine Conductive Foil
  8. Conductive Tape

Step 1: Placing Conductive Tape on CLEAR ITO

Using ZeroNine's double-sided black Conductive Tape, cut a 1 piece for connecting your wire.

Place your tape on the CLEAR ITO. Make sure it is fully on the CLEAR ITO and not touching the white or pink areas.

Step 2: Connecting the wire

Once the double-sided black conductive tape is adhered to the CLEAR ITO, place your stripped wire on the black tape. To achieve the best electrical connection, be sure to fray out the wire strands as shown.

Step 3: Adhering the wire

With your thumb, apply pressure to the wire strands to make sure they are adhered to the conductive tape.

Step 4: Covering the Connection

With a similiar sized piece of the Conductive Aluminum Tape, place it over the black tape to cover up the wire. This cover is intended to give added conductivity and to secure the connection of the wire.

Step 5: Apply Pressure

With your thumb, apply pressure to the two pieces of tape with the wire strands.

Your Done! In this example, we have successfully made a connection to the CLEAR ITO.
