Using the Gerber EDGE® printer

The Basics
  1. Strip a wire and fray it out
  2. Connect wires using a wire nut
  3. Making connections using conductive tape
  4. Hook up your inverter/power supply
  5. Laminating your EL light

  1. Wire - 20-22 gauge
  2. Vinyl electrical tape/wire nuts
  3. Wire strippers
  4. Scissors
  5. Inverter/Power Supply
  6. Digitel EL material
  7. ZeroNine Conductive Foil
  8. Conductive Tape

Step 1: Stripping wire ends

Locate the end of two different wires. Strip the wire ends of them with approximately 1/2" of stranded wire showing. Hold the wires side by side like the picture shown.

 

Step 2: Twisting the strands together

Using your fingers, twist the wire strands together until they resemble a single wire.

Step 3: Adding a wire nut

Locate a wire nut and place it over your twisted wire. Twist the wire nut until the wire nut is snug and holds the two wires connected.

Test the connection by lightly pulling the two wires or attempting to pull the wire nut off the two wires.
