Using the Gerber EDGE® printer

  1. Wire - 20-22 gauge
  2. Vinyl electrical tape/wire nuts
  3. Wire strippers
  4. Scissors
  5. Inverter/Power Supply
  6. Digitel EL material
  7. ZeroNine Conductive Foil
  8. Conductive Tape

Step 1: Design

Make the design as you would like to see it light up. Use the Jet Black color when designing and also use a Primer.

Step 2: Connections

Remember that you are printing a circuit and all printed areas need to be connected to somehow in order to light up. In the example we are printing the connections with a horizontal line in which it connects all the letters together.

Step 3: Reflect

Reflect your design along the X axis. This is very important because the Conductive Ink is printed on the backside of the Digitel material so that when viewing the light from the frontside it will appear in the correct orientation.
